Tyne Cot Military Cemetery and Memorial to the Missing Soldiers

Introduction - Tyne Cot Cemetery

Tyne Cot Cemetery is a British and Commonwealth cemetery in Belgium with the graves of soldiers from the Great War. The cemetery lies on a hillside, in the middle of the former battlefield near Passendale. With almost 12,000 graves, Tyne Cot Cemetery is the largest cemetery of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission on the Western Front. Tyne Cot includes an area of 9 acres (3.6 hectares). It consists of burial grounds and a curved wall (the Memorial to the Missing) that is inscribed with the names of missing.
